Typhoon Nina damaged our mental health center in the Philippines
On Christmas Day, 25 December 2016, typhoon Nina conquered several areas in the Philippines. This natural disaster also affected our mental health center, called Holy Face Rehabilitation Center, which was established in 2004.
Holy Face Center is a custodial psychiatric care facility that operates in the province of Albay in the Bicol Region and provides care for persons with a psychosocial disability in the entire region.
Currently, the center is active in service deliverance through its three major programs and services:
The residential program or center-based care where clients with psychosocial disabilities were admitted for further rehabilitation in a certain period of time;
The weekly out-patient service for psychiatric assessment, evaluation and treatment every Thursday;
The community mental health program with four program components of promotion of mental health care with the local government units, capacity building, establishment of Family Support Group and continuous partnerships and networking.
As you can see on the pictures below, the center was heavily damaged… Any support is welcome, so that the center can be renovated as soon as possible. You can support the Holy Face Rehabilitation Center after this typhoon via http://www.fracarita-international.org/support-our-initiatives
