THE EMMAUS HOSTEL as INCOME GENERATING ACTIVITY in RWANDA
Within the framework of the creation of income-generating activities (IGA), on 22 January 2022, the starting signal was given for the implementation of the " Emmaus Hostel Project". A project in which, adjacent to " Home de la Vierge des Pauvres (HVP) Gatagara" for persons and children with disabilities, an existing old car garage will be converted into 10 comfortable private rooms for patients and their families or visitors.
The Start-Up costs are funded for 100% by the donation of a private donor.
In addition to generating a sustainable income flow to support the operations of HVP Gatagara, this project also aims to increase the accessibility of medical services offered, including orthopaedic and rehabilitation services, and inclusive education for persons and children with disabilities.
The project manager and director of the HVP Gatagara is Br. Kizito Misago with active coaching of Fracarita International.
